We kept asking ourselves, “Are we crazy for being so spontaneous?” The move felt right, but we wanted confirmation.
We have always felt close to nature. So, when we asked for a sign, we were curious what might come forward as a message from our higher selves.
After wondering if we should move this last year, we finally decided to stay put in our home in Evergreen, Colorado. The area had everything. We settled in with our final decision.
Then in November, Anne had a strong intuitive desire to go to northern Florida. Back in March, when we swam with the manatees(see Kissed by a Manatee), we met someone who loved Amelia Island. Anne had been curious about that area ever since then. So, we acted on her intuition and immediately scheduled a trip.
In early December, we took a walk on the island’s quiet long beach. After living for so long in the dry mountain air, the ocean with its lapping waves felt nourishing. We decided to shop for homes.
The next sign we received was from the trees. About a year ago, Anne heard the clear message that “The trees will support you where you live. They will have your back.” That sounded strange because we already lived among ponderosa pines, which felt very supportive. How could we be more supported by the trees?
When we walked into this one house for sale, our question was answered. There were huge live oak trees out the back of the home. They looked to be a couple hundred years old. They, indeed, had our back. We bought the house.
Then we flew home, put our house up for sale and sold it the next day. The speed of everything was dizzying.
The day after we sold our house, Anne started weeping as she drove out of the driveway to take another load to Good Will. She asked her higher wisdom, “Please reassure me this is the right move.”
Suddenly a dove appeared next to her window and flew beside her for almost a quarter mile. This was the same unusual action the raven (see How a Raven Changed Me) had taken on our adventures in Utah (link). The dove then flew in front of the car landing on the pavement causing Anne to come to a screeching halt. This got her attention. We rarely saw doves near our mountain home.
The dove brought a feeling of peace and gratitude to Anne’s heart. After this encounter, she was convinced this was the right move.
A few days later, we loaded up the car and moved to Florida. Upon arriving, I (Greg) had my opportunity to question our whirlwind adventure where we left everyone we knew behind. I walked out of our front door to observe our new neighborhood, and there sat a bald eagle perched on a branch looking down at me. The bald eagle and I hung out for about twenty minutes. Never had I been so close to a bald eagle in the wild. I felt connected and reassured.
Many kind people assisted us on this journey. The water, trees and bird kingdom also brought us confirmation that we are on the right path.
The Transpersonal Hypnotherapy Institute remains in Colorado, and we will be back regularly. If you are in Florida, let us know. We would love to walk on the beach with you!
Love, Anne and Greg
