In March 2025, Anne and I drove ten hours north of Perth, Western Australia to visit the famed Monkey Mia dolphins in the remote Shark Bay Marine Park, a World Heritage area. Why do they come so close to shore to interact with humans there? It turns out that returning fisherman in the 1960s shared their catch with the dolphins at this beach. Up … [Read more...]
Gettysburg and Creating
Have you heard of the term, “You are the creator of your life”? What does that really mean and how does it work? Basically, you have a desire to do something and you take action to create that experience. When I was in middle school, my teacher gave us a week to memorize the three-minute Gettysburg Address and then recite in front of the class. … [Read more...]
Learn What Your Pet Wants You to Know
by Kimberly Nicoletti, Vail Daily. Our dog Hani doesn't usually bark, unless a friend walks into our house - and she's scared of big dogs. For the last fire years, we casually blamed it on being a pandemic puppy and not meeting many new people and dogs for a couple of years. Read more ... … [Read more...]
Momentary Friends
Have you ever met someone out of the blue and immediately hit it off? You just start talking and you’re so engaged and in the moment that the world seems to blur around you. This can happen in the most normal of situations. You can sit next to somebody on a plane or share a table at a coffee shop or chat while you are waiting in line. The … [Read more...]
It Starts with a Niggle!
As we left our hotel room and walked down the hall, Anne asked me if I had checked the room to see if we had left anything behind. I said, “Yes, I checked.” Then as we were joking around in the elevator, she asked me again. I said, “I checked but not as thoroughly as I normally do.” Asking this was unusual for Anne because normally she relies on … [Read more...]
A Wombat Encounter

Wombats are marsupials who weigh 44 to 75 pounds and live around 15 years in the wild. They are nocturnal and mainly stay in their tunnels during the day. These tunnels can reach up to 600 feet in length and become safe havens … [Read more...]

This lady was of indescribable beauty. Benadette experienced her presence 18 times and eventually assumed it to be the Virgin Mary. On May 15, 2025 Anne and I drove … [Read more...]
111-Year-Old Fred
We recently had the opportunity to meet a 111-year-old. He was cute, fluffy and about a foot tall. He was a bird - a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. Fred is supposedly the third oldest bird with detailed documentation. On his 100th birthday in 2014, he was recognized by the Queen of England. For the last thirty years, he has lived at the Bonorong … [Read more...]
Befriending the Weather
On April 16, 2024 Dubai was hit by a rainstorm that was the heaviest in 75 years. They received 4 inches of rain in 24 hours. There was massive flooding, airport closure and roads became lakes. We arrived in Dubai three weeks after this storm. During our drive from the airport to our hotel, we asked our taxi driver what happened. He said it was … [Read more...]
A Chat with Farm Animals
We each have our own unique view of the world. This goes for humans as well as animals and birds. During a recent visit to a farm-to-table restaurant in the country near Jacksonville, Florida, we gained some insights. We had scheduled a private agritourism visit inside the enclosure to intuitively chat with animals and birds about their viewpoints … [Read more...]
