Greg and I had just finished a delicious lunch in the town of Leshan, China after visiting the Giant Buddha, the largest stone statue of its kind in the world. As we were walking out of the restaurant, we noticed a colorful bird in a cage by the door to the owners’ living quarters.
The contentment of this bird caught me by surprise. If Iwere in a cage, I would not be that peaceful. This bird was practically in a meditative state. So, I started up a conversation to discover the secret to his happiness by asking, “What are you doing here?” The bird answered, “Blessing.”
This was an odd answer.
I’d been a professional animalcommunicator (pet psychic) for many years, and this bird’s self-confidence was curious. He seemed so proud of what he was doing, like it was his job to provide blessings to this house and restaurant.
How could this little bird in a cage be so confident?
So, I asked further, “What do you mean?” The bird responded, “House Blessings – I do house blessings.” Again, my interest was peaked. Greg, who is also an animal communicator, came over to question this little birdy and he, too, received the same answers.
When we arrived back at our car in the restaurant parking lot, we asked Penny, our tour guide, “Why would a restaurant owner hang a caged bird at their entrance?” She replied, “They put them in the entryway to their homes and businesses for prosperity.”
O.K. The bird was telling us the truth. It was his job to bless the house and bring prosperity to the family. It was his confident acceptance of his purpose, and positive perspective that made him content with his role – there was no longing to be flying around somewhere in the forest. He simply methodically blessed everything that passed his way while wholeheartedly embracing his purpose.
Wow! We had met a real-life Buddha bird! This was even better than visiting the 8thcentury Giant Buddha UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our perspective was changed by this unexpected treat! He inspired us to be clear on our purpose and direction and comfortable about that as well.
