I felt terrified – shallow breathing, muscles tense and thinking I could die. What was happening?
I was at the state capital in Topeka, Kansas ready to take a tour up into the capital dome. I was in line with school children on field trips. The kids were laughing and joking. They were out of school and on an adventure. I, on the other hand, was scared.
It was my turn to make the ascent up the suspended staircases to the top of the dome and outside onto a small walkway. My legs felt heavy and I could barely move. Anne, on the other hand, was casually chatting with our guide and laughing about how they were dressed alike.
As we ascended, I asked Anne, “What’s going on with me? This is crazy!” She whispered back, “You might want to call in your light, get grounded and be here now.”
I focused on my light and my feet as I took each step higher and higher into the dome. The fear was not lessoning. Instead, I was hyperventilating. Finally, I made it to the top, quickly walked the outside walkway and slowly started down.
For years I’d gone rock climbing on steep and high outcroppings. What made me scared at the Topeka dome? I should have been more scared hanging by my fingers off a cliff.
When I stepped off the staircase and exited the dome tour waiting area into the main building, I was suddenly relaxed and normal again. It was like the fear switch was flipped off.
Then it became intuitively clear what had happened.
Many people, who had taken the tour previously, must have been fearful of heights. This fear built up over time and became a cloud of energy that I walked into. I misinterpreted this as my own fear because it felt so real. I’d been having a fun day and had become lax with my energy management. I’d let down my boundaries and let in foreign energies (fear thoughts).
This may have happened to you at times. You intuitively pick up on the energy outside of you and misinterpret it as your own personal reality.
You may have experienced this driving. Suddenly, you feel like driving off the road or into the other lane. It seems crazy to have this thought out of nowhere. If you do some research, you find out that accidents have occurred in that spot. Intense accident thoughts are left behind and formed a cloud of energy. This cloud gets stronger as others add their thoughts to it and then accidents increase at that location.
It’s good to know you can separate yourself from these energy/thought clouds. In these situations, you can all ask yourself, “Is this my energy I’m feeling or is it someone else’s? Did I just step into a cloud of other people’s energy? Did I get hypnotized by this?”
Through your increased awareness, you can choose to step out of other people’s thoughts and energy clouds and fill yourself with your own thoughts and energy once again.
