Lucy had a dream three weeks before her 103rd birthday. In it she arrived at the entry gates to heaven and saw her husband standing on the other side. He had died 10 years before. He was waving at her, and she fully expected him to open the gates and let her in.
Then she was told she could not go through. Her room was not ready. She had to return in two weeks.
When the nurses at her assisted living facility (ALF) heard her story, they were sad. They loved Lucy and did not want to see her go. But they were also curious to see how her dream would play out. Two weeks?
In the meanwhile, family members were arriving to see Lucy because she had spent the last week in the hospital due to her blood pressure medication. She was now back in her ALF apartment feeling better. The nurses took the opportunity to relay Lucy’s dream to the family.
Lucy was so ready to move to her new home in heaven that she put her son’s family to work. She wanted her apartment cleaned out so she could leave easily when it was time to go.
After a week of visiting and cleaning it was time for her family to drive back home. When they walked into her room to say goodbye, they found her sitting in the chair trying to get her shoes on. She was dressed and had her purse around her neck ready to travel.
The family had to explain to her that she couldn’t go home with them. This made her tired and confused. They put her to bed for a nap and got on the road.
Five hours later, the family called her to check-in and encountered an angry yet clear headed Lucy. “Where are you?” she asked. “I was supposed to go home with you. Why would you leave without me?”
An hour later the nurses called the family saying Lucy had just suffered a stroke and was taken to the hospital again. The family turned the car around and headed back.
When they arrived at the hospital Lucy was unconscious but seemed to relax in their presence. The family then called us to see if we could look at her intuitively and shed some light on her condition. We scheduled our phone session for 8 PM.
When we started the reading, Anne commented how amazingly comfortable Lucy was with the other side. It looked like she belonged there. She was bright and glowing. Greg did some energy work and found very little holding her back in this realm. Lucy telepathically let Anne know she was still upset at her family for leaving without her in their car. She felt better now that we were all supporting her.
About thirty minutes into our session, the family received a call on their other line. It was to inform them that she had passed. In calculating the timing of her crossing, it was right on target with her dream. It had been two weeks to the day.
In reflection, we recognized that when she got dressed to leave with the family on their road trip home, she was confused as to which home she was going to – was it her son’s home or heaven? Either way, she wanted to travel with her family’s support.
Lucy had been a meditator for nearly 50 years and was familiar with being in a peaceful state. She was open to receiving messages in her dreams. She had a two week plan and carried it out.
Lucy showed us how we can take that final journey with clarity and support. The more we are aware, the easier it is to make the transition from the physical to the non-physical. It can be a loving intentional experience!
