In this series we talk with pets, whose names have been changed, to see what they have to say. Here is an interesting pet psychic reading that we gave.

Mary (tiger) and Mitch (black) receive their pet psychic reading at a distance from Greg Meyerhoff and Anne Salisbury.

Owners: We have two cats we have had for twelve years: we adopted Mitch from the vet, and Mary came to us as a stray. Can you read them even though they are not here? They are at home and we don’t even have a photo of them with us.

Anne & Greg: Yes, we can read them remotely. All we need is for you to say their names. We then follow their energy signature to find them. So, what is your question?

Question: Why is our cat, Mitch, peeing around the house now?

Anne & Greg: Mitch says he is only peeing on the carpet in your place in Denver but he is not doing that on the carpet in your Frisco home. Is that true?

Owners: Yes. We travel between Denver and Frisco a lot, and he only pees on the carpet in Denver.

Anne & Greg: He is also showing us the image of an oriental rug – he really likes oriental rugs. He is also showing us some carpet, and that is his toilet now. Is this true?

Owners: Yes, that is really interesting because we do have oriental rugs and he loves them. He just rolls around on them – he just loves them and never pees on them.

Anne & Greg: Well, Mitch says he sees himself as a happy traveler. He is showing us images of an area like the old Kasbah and the people in the Kasbah. He says the local men there have unusual bathroom etiquette. They pull up their robes, squat along the street and pee and poop in the sandy dirt. He says he is just doing the same thing on the beige colored carpet.

Owners: That is funny because he is like a Bohemian cat. He has travelled a lot. We've lived all over the world and both of our cats have come with us.

Anne & Greg: That’s great. We’re happy he sees himself as a Bohemian – comfortable peeing anywhere in public. But now we need him to understand that beige carpet in your house is not the same as the sandy dirt on the streets of a foreign land. It is not his toilet.

So, what has changed in your house? What is different that would make him feel comfortable peeing on your carpet now, when he wasn’t doing that before?

Owners: The only thing we can think of is that we changed the type of litter we are using.

Anne & Greg: Ok. We will flash him the image that the litter box is now the only place in the house that is appropriate for his toilet. You, too, can flash him the image that American etiquette is now applicable. Because we now know how Mitch thinks, it is also important to buy him a different style of litter.

Anne & Greg’s Summary: Pets get used to things, whether it is the time that you feed them or the type of litter in their box. When you change these things, their behavior can change. Change can be confusing, and they can start peeing in different places. Mitch had a perfectly reasonable explanation for this. He felt he was in a new land with the change in his litter and, therefore, he could adopt a new behavior and have this new norm apply. We had to tell him, “No, the old rules still apply.”

Question: Why is our other cat waking up at 4:30AM screaming? It is only happening at our home in Denver and not our place in Frisco, Colorado.

Anne & Greg: It looks as though Mary has been traveling through different realms in her sleep. She is waking up dizzy and can’t see straight – it really bothers her. She doesn’t know where she is. She needs to ground herself to her current location more, particularly before she goes to sleep at night.

We will show her what we mean by grounding. You can see a little grounding cord going from her belly to the center of the earth. This anchors her to wherever she is. We want her to do this exercise regularly until it becomes an unconscious act. We want her to be more grounded.

Owners: This is really good because Mary has been having anxiety attacks. She doesn’t like to travel, and now we know why. She is the exact opposite of Mitch – he loves to travel.

Anne & Greg’s Summary: Animals, like people, can become ungrounded when traveling, even if it is just going home through rush hour traffic. It is easy to take your body to a new location while your thoughts and emotions are still experiencing the old location.

You can do grounding exercises similar to those we teach in our home study CD course, Intuitive Skills I: Tools for Life. Animals don’t have the luxury of taking courses. So you can take a moment to ground yourself and then flash your pet the image of your being grounded. You can also hold your pet quietly with the intention of the two of you being grounded together. They will then follow your lead.
