In this series we investigate orbs, those spheres of light that can appear in your photographs.
Late in the summer of 2008 we ventured to Iceland with the express purpose of experiencing the creation of new land at the Great Rift. This is the only place on dry land where you can experience the earth growing. Here two continental plates are slowly separating. Europe and North America are pulling apart right under your feet. This rift is in a rocky area that you can walk through. At one place you can go into a small cavern where water is coming up through the gap in the rocks. Because the earth is exposing its inner nature, or inner-self, at this location, it is very special. It is as though the nature spirits and the orbs just can’t get enough of this experience – they want to drink it all up! You can see that this photo contains some of the most colorful orbs we have yet to photograph. There are red ones, orange ones, yellow ones, blue ones, white ones. It is an orb and nature extravaganza! The beings at this location are so excited about the shift in the earth, and the newness of the energy coming up to the surface there, that the air is completely filled with orbs. You cannot even see the water or the inside of the little rocky opening. You can feel that these orbs are almost intoxicated with this shoulder-to-shoulder experience. They all want to be there to greet nature unfolding. Interestingly enough, the massive quantity of orbs, which we experienced in our photos, did not show up in those of other visitors. Most people on our day tour had no orbs in their photos. A few people had one or two. And one woman, whom we previously educated about orbs, found many orbs in a few of her shots. Since she was the professional photographer for our group, she was grateful that they were not in all of her photos. She could not have sold ones that looked so spotted! Have Your Own Orb Experience! It could be very interesting if you know of a natural spring or a small stream somewhere nearby. You could then plan an adventure to that location around dawn or dusk. Look around and become familiar with this site. Let its beauty fill your heart. Then make yourself comfortable by sitting or lying down in quiet meditation. When you feel at peace, sit up and begin taking some photos. See what you see. Then stand up and, if appropriate, do a little dance. Take some more photos and see what appears. Then, if you are there with a friend, start sharing about a time in your life when you felt really joyous. Maybe tell some jokes and have a good laugh. Take a few more photos, and notice what you see. Orbs love a naturally good time, whether they appear in your photos or not! |
